Field Trips

Detroit Zoo - Ford Education Center
Discover our Ford Education Center and the wonderful opportunities that await you and your students! Our programs complement Michigan Grade Level and High School Content Expectations. Classroom field trip programs are held indoors in a climate-controlled setting and are accessible for participants of all abilities. Programs are offered year-round and last approximately 45 minutes. Cost is $2 per participant, plus admission. Maximum group size is 60 participants; some exceptions are noted in the program descriptions.

Belle Isle Nature Zoo
The BINZ provides year-round unique educational, recreational and conservation opportunities for Detroit school children as well as other students, teachers, families and community groups throughout the tri-county area. A 1/8-mile interpreted nature trail has been developed as well as outdoor and indoor animal exhibits. Our field trip programs are FREE! Programs include a fallow deer feeding, a hands-on activity and/or biofact discovery time.
