ROYAL OAK, Mich., January 19, 2012 – Birds do it.  Bees do it.  Find out how animals at the Detroit Zoo do it at the inaugural Love Gone Wild on Tuesday, February 14, 2012, 6:30 to 10 p.m.  Open to both singles and sweethearts, this memorable Valentine’s Day event will offer a candid and entertaining look at how zoo animals do the “wild thing”.

Hosted by Chief Life Sciences Officer Scott Carter, the evening will include an intimate and revealing look into the “dating” and mating escapades of the Detroit Zoo’s animals.

“From passionate courting rituals to May-December romances to mate swapping, the ‘love lives’ of animals are anything but boring,” said Carter.

Love Gone Wild will feature a strolling supper and delectable desserts prepared by the Detroit Zoo’s culinary team from Dining in the Wild.  A Champagne welcome and two drink tickets are also included.

Guests will receive a commemorative gift and have the opportunity to share the love with some of the Zoo’s animals by making them a Valentine’s Day “cookie gram”.

Love Gone Wild will be held in the Detroit Zoo’s Ford Education Center.  Guests must be 21 and older.

The cost is $65 per person for Detroit Zoological Society Members and $75 per person for non-members (includes parking).  Tickets must be purchased in advance and are available at www.detroitzoo.org/lovegonewild or by calling (248) 541-5717 (press 9).
