Eastern massasauga rattlesnakes are Michigan’s only true rattlesnakes. The Detroit Zoological Society has collaborated with partners to monitor a population of massasaugas for more than 10 years. This information helps guide best practices for land management and gauge the overall health of the individuals and the population.
