Red Kangaroo

(Osphranter rufus)

The Detroit Zoo is home to a mob of nine red kangaroos. As the world’s largest marsupial, red kangaroo females have pouches on their abdomens that help them raise their young. Both males and females use their strong tails to help them balance while hopping and sitting.
