Educator Open House 9/30/2023 ![]() |
The Detroit Zoo is welcoming all educators to visit the Zoo and explore the resources available to help bring classroom learning to life. Admission is free for educators with current teaching credentials, pre-service teachers with student IDs, administrators and out-of-school-time educators. Family and friends may purchase discounted admission to join in on the fun. |

Do you know a young person who is taking action to help animals? If so, nominate them for the DZS Berman Academy for Humane Education’s 2022 Humane Youth Award. This award recognizes young people who embody the Berman Academy’s commitment to walking softly and treating the Earth’s creatures gently. At the same time, it provides them opportunities and resources to continue their great work and inspire others to do the same. |

Day At The Zoo Award Program![]() |
The Day at the Zoo program provides students an opportunity to explore and discover the Detroit Zoological Society when school funding is not available. School groups who are awarded funding through the DATZ program will receive admission, a transportation stipend, and an educational program. The Detroit Zoological Society’s Day at the Zoo (DATZ) is funded by generous donors, including those who have contributed to the David K. Page Fund. Funding cannot be guaranteed and is limited. *** Please check back in September 2022 for the next application period *** |
