Virtual Day at The Zoo

The Detroit Zoological Society’s Day at the Zoo (DATZ) is funded by generous donors, including those who have contributed to the David K. Page Fund.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, DATZ is temporarily shifting to Day with the Zoo, an educational program that provides an opportunity for students to experience a virtual visit with the Zoo, by providing financial assistance to classrooms where funds may be limited.

Funding cannot be guaranteed and is limited.

The Day with the Zoo program includes:

  1. Access to an age-appropriate virtual learning lab
  2. Access to a virtual Zoo map, to explore the Zoo virtually
  3. Classroom set of age-appropriate books for pre-K and elementary groups
  4. In-class or at-home activity

Funding decisions will be made on an on-going basis as funding allows. Applicants will be notified by email.

Applications must be made by the classroom teacher and only for students you directly instruct.
