Declutter and make a difference at our annual E-Recycling Event at Greenfest!
Have old, unwanted electronics and small devices littering your home? Bring them to the Zoo’s 10 Mile Road parking lot during this special event to be responsibly recycled!
As a thank you, you will receive tickets* to the Detroit Zoo! Earn one Zoo ticket when you bring one large item or fill a 17-gallon or larger tub with electronics. An entire trunk or backseat full of electronics earns two Zoo tickets.
Every electronic recycled reduces landfill waste, protects animal habitats by reducing the need to mine for new metals and safeguards our environment! This event is hosted in partnership with the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy, Cirba Solutions and PADNOS.
What to Recycle:
- All TVs and monitors (flatscreen, CRT, etc.)
- Printers
- Computers and laptops
- Cell phones and tablets**
- Holiday lights, cords and other wire
- DVD and VHS players
- Radios
- Small electronics
Personal information should be deleted from electronic devices before coming to recycle.
What NOT to bring:
- Light bulbs (You can instead register for hazardous waste drop off with your local municipality.)
- Smoke detectors (You can instead return to the manufacturer or wrap in newsprint and discard at your curbside.)
