Open Late Until 8 p.m.*

We’re staying open late on select Sundays and Wednesdays this summer — giving you extra time to explore Fred and Barbara Erb Discovery Trails, Dinosauria, presented by Michigan First Credit Union, all your favorite animal habitats.

  • Extended Sunday Evenings — Explore at your own pace until 8 p.m.
  • Wild Summer Nights Wednesdays Presented by Genisys Credit Union, experience live music in Picnic Grove from 6–7:30 p.m., plus food, drinks, carousel rides, and seasonal entertainment.

After 6 p.m., general admission is half price. Members, as always, receive free admission.

*Frankel Stingray Cove will close at 4:30 p.m., and other select attractions will close at 5 p.m. to support guest safety and the health and well-being of the animals in our care.

Extended Sunday Evenings

End your weekend with a wild adventure. The Zoo is open until 8 p.m. on Sundays in June, giving you extra time to explore, play and connect with your favorite animals.

Wild Summer Nights

Wild Summer Nights, presented by Genisys Credit Union, is the Detroit Zoo’s Wednesday night live music event series featuring concerts, extended evening Zoo access and seasonal entertainment.

Enjoy live music in Picnic Grove from 6 - 7:30 p.m., outdoor habitats during cooler evening hours, food and drinks, carousel rides and more.
