Wildlife Conservation Gala
More than 120 guests attended the Detroit Zoological Society’s (DZS’s) second annual Wildlife Conservation Gala, presented by Ford Motor Company, on Friday, April 27. Guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres followed by a sit-down dinner in the iconic Wildlife Interpretive Gallery at the Detroit Zoo.
Themed “Standing up to Extinction”, the event included a multi-media presentation highlighting the DZS’s worldwide work to save species from extinction. The night was capped off with the presentation of the Nautilus Award – given to an individual or organization whose efforts have made a profound impact on the future of wildlife and who embodies the mission of the DZS. This year’s award was presented to the Holtzman Wildlife Foundation, whose tenacious energy, focus, passion and generosity is helping conserve wildlife around the world.
The evening raised more than $69,000 in net revenue for the Detroit Zoological Society’s wildlife conservation programs.
