Leaps and Beats

Wednesdays in August | 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Loosen up like a ring-tailed lemur while improving agility, balance, flexibility and strength during a one-hour aerobic workout session. This early evening fitness routine is suitable for all skill levels and incorporates many forms of dance, including Jazz, Modern and Lyrical. Each session will be held near the Detroit Zoo’s historic and famed Horace H. Rackham Fountain, which provides a cool refreshing mist during the workout. In-person sessions start just after the Zoo closes to the public and includes Zoo admission (prior to) and parking.

In accordance with Michigan state orders, all participants — unless otherwise prevented by a medical condition — are required to wear a mask in crowded outdoor spaces. You can read our full safety guidelines at detroitzoo.org/health.

Leaps and Beats is limited to guests 13 years and older. Guests under the age of 18 require parental consent to participate. Guests must be at least 16 years old to attend without a parent or guardian.

Advance ticket purchase is required as space is limited and the event may sell out.

New this year! This class is also available virtually! Follow along from the comfort of your home.

Leaps and Beats at the Zoo is a rain or shine event. The rain location will be the Events Pavilion, located next to the Ford Education Center.
