The DZS Lecture Series is back! Join us as we meet wildlife photographer Brandon Güell, whose photograph of gliding treefrogs was Highly Commended in the “Behavior: Amphibians and Reptiles” category of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition. Hear Brandon share his passion for wildlife conservation and talk about his experience researching gliding treefrogs in Costa Rica.  Guests will have exclusive access to the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition and a meet-and-greet with Brandon Güell.

What is Wildlife Photographer of the Year? 

Owned by the Natural History Museum in London, the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition celebrates the very best of nature photography and photojournalism, using the unique emotive power of photography to inspire wonder and create advocates for the natural world. 

The exhibition showcases 100 photographs in a variety of competition categories and features inspiring images that capture nature’s rich diversity. This internationally renowned exhibit allows viewers to experience nature in vivid detail. Gaze through the lens of expert wildlife photographers to get up close to some of the world’s most extraordinary species, the lives they live and the challenges they face. 

Who is Brandon Güell?

Brandon

Brandon is a first-generation Costa Rican-American, a sixthyear PhD candidate at Boston University and a National Science Foundation pre-doctoral fellow. He currently researches the reproductive and behavioral ecology of gliding treefrogs. Brandon uses photography not only to communicate science but also to help inspire a passion for wildlife and create advocates for conservation. Brandon is an avid outdoorsman, plant and snake dad, and home chef and baker.
