Be among the first to see the Polk Penguin Conservation Center
The MemberFest confirmation you will receive is a reservation for a day and time to arrive at the Zoo. In order to manage crowds and ensure an enjoyable time for all members we ask that you arrive at the time indicated on your reservation. Arrival times for the event are 5 p.m., 5:30 p.m., 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Upon arrival, you will receive a pass at main admissions for a specific time to enter the Polk Penguin Conservation Center.
Experience an Antarctic adventure! Cross the Drake Passage and feel the sea spray as you descend into the new penguin habitat at the Detroit Zoo. And best of all, watch from underwater tunnels as more than 80 gentoo, rockhopper, macaroni and king penguins deep dive.
Activities include timed entry to the new penguin center, the Sir Ernest Shackleton Endurance exhibit at the Wildlife Interpretive Gallery, discounted refreshments and a 20 percent discount at The Drake Passage Gift Shop inside the penguin center. The National Amphibian Conservation Center and Holden Reptile Conservation Center will be accessible during this event, as will the river otter and beaver habitats.
Other Zoo habitats and attractions will not be open during this event.
Please bring your membership card, photo ID and reserved timed-entry confirmation.
Entrance to this Member-only event will only be granted to the people listed on your membership in our computer system. Guests will not be allowed unless your membership level includes unnamed guests.
