Raise a glass to wildlife at the Detroit Zoo’s Wild Beasts Wild Wine on Friday, July 21, from 6 to 10 p.m. The event will allow guests to sample wine from more than 40 local and national wineries and vineyards while enjoying the Detroit Zoo’s award-winning habitats at twilight.
The wine-tasting experience will also feature live music and zookeeper talks. Advance ticket purchase is encouraged as space is limited and the event may sell out. Tickets are available for $45 in advance and $50 at the gate (if not sold out). Tickets are available online or at Window One at the front of the Zoo. The cost includes Zoo admission and 10 wine-tasting tickets (additional tasting tickets and food will be available for purchase)
Designated Driver (DD) tickets will be available online or at the gate up to the night of the event (if not sold out). DD tickets are $30 and include Zoo admission and unlimited soft drinks. DD ticket holders are not permitted to consume alcohol at the event.
A limited number of VIP tickets are available for $85, which includes all of the features of the general admission ticket, as well as unlimited food offerings, exclusive access to the VIP lounge featuring Michigan wines, four additional tasting tickets for use in the VIP lounge and a commemorative glass.
All attendees must be 21 or older; photo ID is required. Parking is $7 per car for Members and non-members.
The Polk Penguin Conservation Center will be open until 8:45 p.m. For the health and safety of the animals, most of their habitats are closed after dark. The best time to view the animals is during daytime hours.
