Zoo Learning

Take your Zoo skills to wild heights with our education-based experiences. From curated lesson plans to family-filled learning, we have everything you need to be a wildlife expert!

Schools

Extend classroom learning by connecting with the Detroit Zoo! In-person, virtual and web-based resources are available to connect students with science, conservation and sustainability-focused resources.

Learning Labs

Learning Labs are immersive experiences that connect classroom learning with real-world contexts. Students will participate in hands-on activities that reinforce science concepts by simulating field conservation work, taking on the role of a veterinarian working through a hypothetical medical case or station-based activities that support literacy, science and math development.

Day at the Zoo

Day at the Zoo provides opportunities for students to visit the Detroit Zoo by awarding financial assistance to classrooms where funds may be limited. Through generous donations, including those who have contributed to the David K. Page fund, classrooms may receive a virtual education program or an in-person program at the Detroit Zoo that includes admission, a transportation stipend and an age-appropriate education program.
