Supporter tickets are two for $300 if purchased by April 30

The Detroit Zoological Society’s annual Sunset at the Zoo fundraiser, presented by Strategic Staffing Solutions, promises to be the coolest event of the summer. Themed “Summer Chill” in celebration of the Detroit Zoo’s future Polk Penguin Conservation Center, Sunset takes place Friday, June 12, 2015, 7-11:30 p.m. The 21-and-older event is held rain or shine and the Zoo closes at 1 p.m. that day in preparation for the festivities.

Sunset at the Zoo offers a strolling supper with tastes of signature dishes from 40 of the area’s finest restaurants as well as desserts and zoo-themed specialty drinks. The event also features live music by The Jerry Ross Band, dancing under the stars, live and silent auctions and access to many of the Zoo’s award-winning animal habitats as the sun goes down. Attire is “summer chic”.

Tickets for Sunset at the Zoo range from $175 to $750 per person and can be purchased online at Supporter tickets are $175 each or two for $300 if purchased by April 30. Patron tickets are $300 and include a VIP Reception held prior to Sunset on June 12, 5:30-7 p.m. A limited number of Benefactor tickets are available for $750 and include a Benefactor Bash on May 20 – to be held at the Manoogian Mansion, home of Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan and First Lady Lori Maher, and co-hosted by Suzy and Burt Farbman – as well as the VIP Reception on June 12.

Sunset at the Zoo is also supported by AVL, The Cotton Family, IBEW Local 58, Ilitch Holdings, ITC Holdings, Jaffe Raitt Heuer & Weiss, KPMG, MotorCity Casino Hotel, Quicken Loans and Title Source, Service Systems Associates, and Vivacqua Law.
