Tickets on sale now for new 21+ Spooky Spirits event and family-friendly Zoo Boo series

October 7, 2022

WHAT: The Detroit Zoo is getting the “pawty” started to celebrate Halloween all month long and encouraging guests to purchase tickets for the inaugural Spooky Spirits event, the newest After Hours 21+ Event Series from the Zoo – as well as the annual Zoo Boo series.

For a chilling good time that’s sure to give adult guests “pumpkin” to talk about, tickets for Spooky Spirits, presented by KeyBank, are on sale now. Zoo Boo, presented by Beaumont Children’s, is the Zoo’s annual merry-not-scary celebration for guests of all ages. Tickets for the family-friendly event range from $17 to $23 and can be purchased here.

Spooky Spirits, taking place Oct. 14, features alcoholic beverages available for tasting throughout the evening, as well as a complimentary welcome drink provided by Griffin Claw Brewing Company. General Spooky Spirits admission tickets cost $50 and include six alcoholic tasting tickets. Additional drink tasting tickets are available for purchase at the event. Designated driver ($30) and VIP designated driver ($65) tickets are available as well and include unlimited soft drinks. VIP guests also receive complimentary food options and a commemorative gift.

Spooky Spirits also boasts bone-chilling entertainment, a haunted trail through the woods, yard games, fall-themed snacks and exclusive access to the Zoo’s award-winning, naturalistic habitats. Guests are also encouraged to craft their most creative wardrobes for a chance to win a costume contest.

Zoo Boo takes place over the course of three fun, theme-filled weekends throughout October. Although all costumes are welcomed during Zoo Boo, guests are encouraged to dress according to each weekend’s theme: Wildlife and Wild Places (Oct. 8-9); Witches, Warlocks and Werewolves, Oh My! (Oct. 15-16); and Heroes and Villains (Oct. 21-23). All 125 acres of the Zoo will be open during Zoo Boo, giving guests opportunities to collect tasty treats while simultaneously seeing their favorite animals enjoy treats of their own.
