This holiday season, Detroit Zoo visitors can revel in nostalgia while joining Rudolph on his quest to save Christmas. A 10-minute adaptation of the beloved animated television classic “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer 4-D” is showing exclusively at the Wild Adventure Zone 4-D Theater during Wild Lights, the Zoo’s annual holiday light display.

Guests will recognize classic songs and dialogue brought to life by loveable, iconic characters like the Abominable Snow Monster, Hermey the Elf, Santa Claus and, of course, the most famous reindeer of all.

Tickets for “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer 4-D” are $5 for guests 2 and older and are available at main admissions, the Wild Adventure Zone ticket booth or online.

New this year, the Zoo is offering a package for $15 that includes admission to Wild Lights and “Rudolph”, a pair of 3-D glasses that turn the LED lights into snowflakes or snowmen, and a red foam Rudolph nose.

The 126-seat Wild Adventure Zone 4-D Theater delivers high-definition viewing in 3-D with 7.1 digital audio surround sound. The experience features a variety of sensory surprises built into the seats and theater environment, bringing on-screen images to life with 4-D effects such as mist, scents, back pokers, leg ticklers and seat vibrations.

Presented by Bank of America, Wild Lights features more than five million twinkling LED lights as well as live entertainment, arts and crafts, and the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition.

Wild Lights will be held 5:30-9 p.m. Nov. 18-20 and 25-27 and Dec. 1-4, 8-11, 15-23 and 26-31, 2016. Tickets are $10 in advance and $13 at the gate. A limited number of tickets are also available at all Michigan Kroger stores. Advance ticket purchase is strongly recommended as the evenings may sell out.
