November 23, 2021

ROYAL OAK, Mich.,

Wildlife Photographer of the Year, a world-renowned exhibition developed and produced by the Natural History Museum in London, makes its U.S. debut at the Detroit Zoo. The exhibition features exceptional images which capture fascinating animal behavior, spectacular species and the breathtaking diversity of the natural world.

This display runs through April 17, 2022 and is free with Zoo admission.

The exhibition of winners from the 2021 competition features 100 images dramatically displayed as illuminated large-format color transparencies. The photographs were chosen from more than 50,000 entries to spark reaction and encourage us all to think differently about our impact on the natural world.

The Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition will also be open during Wild Lights. Sponsored by Strategic Staffing Solutions, the Detroit Zoo’s spectacular holiday display features more than 5 million LED lights. For more information and tickets, visit wildlights.detroitzoo.org.

The celebratory book “Wildlife Photographer of the Year Portfolio 30,” which contains all the images from this year’s competition, is also available inside the Zoo’s Zoofari Market.
