Zookeeper Talks

Zookeeper talks are held daily at various animal habitats, giving visitors a chance to interact with members of the animal care staff and learn about the animals. This schedule is updated weekly.

 

Monday, February 18

11:30 a.m. – Otters in the Edward Mardigian Sr. River Otter Habitat
1:30 p.m. – Japanese giant salamanders in the National Amphibian Conservation Center 

Tuesday, February 19

11:30 a.m. – Santa Catalina Island rattlesnake in the Holden Reptile Conservation Center
1:30 p.m. – Arctic foxes in the Arctic Ring of Life

Wednesday, February 20

11:30 a.m. – Chimpanzees in the Great Apes of Harambee
1:30 p.m. – Water monitor in the Holden Reptile Conservation Center

Thursday, February 21

11:30 a.m. – Penguins in the Polk Penguin Conservation Center
1:30 p.m. – Wolverines 

Friday, February 22

11:30 a.m. – Panamanian golden frogs in the National Amphibian Conservation Center
1:30 p.m. – Bison 

Saturday, February 23 – International Polar Bear Day

Zookeeper talks will be held at the Arctic Ring of Life at 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.

Sunday, February 24

11:30 a.m. – Red pandas in the Holtzman Wildlife Foundation Red Panda Forest
1:30 p.m. – Japanese giant salamanders in the National Amphibian Conservation Center

 

Wildlife Adventure Stories

Wonder what it’s like to live in Africa? Listen to stories from our education specialist about growing up in rural Africa and being a safari guide. You’ll hear tales about hippos, lions, gorillas and more! Wild Adventure Stories take place Tuesdays through Fridays, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., in the Discovery Studio on the second floor of the Ford Education Center.
