What’s new at GreenFest 2024?

Come early and enjoy a “poo-sitively” exciting prize! The first 250 groups to enter the Zoo on each event date will take home a 2-gallon bucket of Zoo Poo – compost created from waste collected at the Zoo, including manure, bedding and food waste! This compost with a cause is perfect to grow your garden or plant paradise. Vouchers are claimed at the entrance and redeemed upon exiting the Zoo*.
*One voucher per household.

Get amped up for the NFL Draft with the On the Clock Tour, happening from 9 a.m. until noon Saturday, April 20 during GreenFest!

Look for our Visit Detroit partners just outside the main Zoo admission gates and stop by for some exciting, free football-themed fun.

How does GreenFest support the Detroit Zoological Society (DZS) mission?

GreenFest will promote sustainability and eco-friendly practices through fun activities and educational displays, encouraging guests to make the world a greener place. Your event admission also provides support so that the DZS can continue to demonstrate extraordinary leadership in environmental sustainability.

To support the highest level of well-being, animals living at the Detroit Zoo choose where to spend time within their habitats. This includes both their indoor and outdoor living spaces, as well as parts of their habitats that are hidden from public view. While habitats will be open for this event, animals may choose to be out of sight. We appreciate your understanding and support of our goal to provide the best possible care for the animals who call the Detroit Zoo home.
