Allen’s Swamp Monkeys

(Allenopithecus nigroviridis)

Allen’s swamp monkeys are highly social primates that originate from the lowland forests of the Congo basin, where they inhabit swamps and riverine areas. Two swamp monkeys call the Detroit Zoo home — Azizi, a male born March 18, 2013, and Pepper, a female born Feb. 10, 2017.
