On Zoo Boo dates (Oct. 3-4, 9-11, 16-18 and 23-25), regular Zoo hours are 10 a.m.–2 p.m. The Zoo will reopen from 3-8:30 p.m. for the event. A separate Zoo Boo ticket is required.
Burrowing Owls
Burrowing owls can be recognized by their spotted brown feathers and yellow eyes. At the Detroit Zoo, you can see two of this species — Pebbles and Peat — burrowing and exploring their habitat inside Erb Discovery Trails.
