Eland

(Tragelaphus oryx)

Eland have two corkscrew horns, a dewlap that helps them cool and white vertical stripes on their bodies that turn darker with age. The Zoo is home to two elands, Hops and her daughter, Mwenzi. You can tell the eland apart by looking at their horns — Hops has one short and one long, and Mwenzi’s horns have slight curves.
