Emperor spotted newts, known for their shyness and tendency to hide during the day, live inside the National Amphibian Conservation Center. Unlike most other amphibians, these robust newts spend most of their time on land, only venturing into the water for breeding purposes. During this phase, they display a more bold and outgoing behavior.
