Macaroni Penguin

(Eudyptes chrysolophus)

Macaroni penguins have distinct yellow and black plumes extending backwards from their beaks. These birds get their name from these feathers, as the plumes reminded early English explorers of a “Macaroni,” a term used to describe a fashionable man in 18th century Britain.
