Matamata Turtle

(Chelus fimbriatus)

Matamata turtles camouflage well into the bottom of streams and swamps, blending in with leaves and plants. They have a uniquely shaped and flattened head, along with a tube-like snout used like a snorkel to stick up out of the water to breathe.
