Dwarf Siren

(Pseudobranchus striatus)

Dwarf sirens are a small, fully aquatic salamander found in wetlands of the southeastern United States. Slender and eel-like, they lack hind limbs, retain external gills for life, and live among dense aquatic vegetation. They feed on small invertebrates like worms, crustaceans, and insect larvae.
