Taveta Golden Weaver

(Ploceus castaneiceps)

The taveta golden weaver can be found inside the Matilda R. Wilson Free-Flight Aviary at the Detroit Zoo. Named after their nesting habits, males of this species use their beaks to weave nests so the females can choose a mate based on his nest-building ability.
