Warthog

(Phacochoerus africanus)

Warthogs have large gray, brown or black bodies with thick manes that run down their backs and small tufts of hair at the ends of their tails. They are well adapted to Africa’s dry seasons and can go several months without drinking water. Female warthogs Daenerys, Sansa and Cersei, all born in April 2015, live with their father, Linus, at the Detroit Zoo.
