Dinosauria

What’s New for 2026?

  • Meet the New Giants: Stare up at the Omeisaurus, a towering new addition stretching 50 feet long and 25 feet high! Keep your eyes peeled for the sharp-horned Carnotaurus and the flying Tupandactylus soaring overhead.
  • Climb the Dinos: Don’t just look — play! We’ve added a 16-foot, climbable parasaurolophus so you can get closer than ever to the dinos.
  • Step Inside the Egg: Capture the perfect memory in our new walk-in fiberglass Dinosaur Egg. It’s the ultimate photo op for your little hatchlings.
  • Build Your Own Adventure: Foam bone kits let young paleontologists construct their own dinosaur skeletons. Part science, part puzzle, all fun!

FAQs

Sensory & Accessibility Notice

The Detroit Zoological Society is committed to welcoming guests of all abilities. Please be aware that Dinosauria features fog effects, intermittent loud sounds, and water features. The animatronic movements are realistic and sometimes sudden. The area may get crowded during peak times. If wider wheels are needed to traverse the gravel path, “beach wheelchairs” have been made available at the trail’s entrance.

The animatronic sculptures featured in Dinosauria were produced by Dino Don Incorporated.
