Dream Night, presented by Michigan Educational Credit Union, is a private, cost-free evening created exclusively for families of children living with chronic or terminal illnesses. Space is limited to the first 1,000 pre-approved guests.

New for 2026: Fred and Barbara Erb Discovery Trails 

Dream Night families will be among the first to explore our brand-new 7-acre expansion, Fred and Barbara Erb Discovery Trails. The experience is built for all abilities to touch, climb, play, learn and discover. It’s sure to be a family favorite for the evening! 

Zoo Ambassadors will also be stationed throughout the Zoo to help families find their way and make the most of the evening.

What to Expect 

  • Zookeeper chats with ASL interpreters and hands-on education stations 
  • Complimentary access to Dinosauria, 4D theater, Tauber Family Railroad and carousel 
  • Face painting and meet-and-greets with Zoo mascots 
  • Complimentary dinner buffet for all registered guests 
  • Silent disco, presented by Mary Free Bed 
  • Complimentary wheelchair, stroller and ECV rentals 
  • First response vehicles in the Main Picnic Grove 
  • Sensory bags and fidget tools 
  • Volunteens tabling activations 
  • On-site support services 
  • Free parking

The majority of Dream Night tickets are distributed through our community partners. 200 public spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis. 

 This year, we are prioritizing families who have not attended Dream Night before. 

 Can’t get a spot? We’d still love to see you. Check out our monthly Sensory-Friendly Mornings and other inclusive programs hosted by the Zoo throughout the year.
