Select Wednesdays from June to August, the Zoo stays open until 8 p.m. Enjoy full access to habitats as the day cools off, catch live music in the picnic grove from 6 to 7:30 p.m., grab a bite, ride the carousel and explore the new Fred and Barbara Erb Discovery Trails.

Whether you stay for the music or a peaceful evening walk, this is your chance to make the most of Michigan summer nights — all included with your admission (and completely free for Zoo members).

After 6 p.m., general admission is half price.

What to Expect 

  • Live music in the Main Picnic Grove from 6-7:30 p.m.
  • Access to animal habitats and buildings until 8 p.m.
  • Food and beverage + retail open late
  • Your favorite rides and attractions* — including Dinosauria, presented by Michigan First Credit Union, and Erb Discovery Trails — open late

*Aaron and Carolynn Frankel Stingray Cove will close at 4:30 p.m., and other select attractions will close at 5 p.m. to support guest safety and the health and well-being of the animals in our care.
