GreenPrize Application for the 2026-2027 School Year
GreenPrize Awardees — Eligibility Criteria
Obtain a letter of commitment from the school’s administrator stating:
Their approval to utilize both the lunchroom and a student assembly area (e.g. gym, auditorium, designated classroom, etc.) for the Waste-Free Lunch Assessment
Their commitment to support staff to organize and students to execute
They understand the award requires no financial commitment from the school
Their commitment for their school to apply to the Michigan Green Schools Program
Establish a Green Team (or similar student-led team) with a designated adult Facilitator.
Commit a minimum number of student participants to implement the GreenPrize bundle.
Commit to apply to the next cycle of the Michigan Green Schools Program for the upcoming school year and provide verification of application. Applications are open
and typically close in early March (visit https://greenschools-michigan.hub.arcgis.com/ for the most up to date information).
