The Detroit Zoo offers a holiday party setting unlike anywhere else. Whether you’re planning an intimate seated dinner or a lively strolling reception, your group will enjoy full-service catering, exceptional amenities and a memorable backdrop that will keep people talking for years to come.
Experience Wild Lights Display
Experience the magic of Wild Lights as part of your holiday celebration. Special event admission is required for your final guest count and gives your guests access to more than 5 million LED lights illuminating trees, buildings and animal sculptures throughout the Zoo.
Special Event Admission: $19 per person.
Availability: Select weeknights and weekends.
Your Venue: The Wildlife Interpretive Gallery
- Capacity: 120 seated | 200 strolling
- Atmosphere: Glass-roofed, lush greenery and access to the Butterfly Garden (open until 8 p.m.)
- Rental Window: 5:30-9:30 p.m. standard | extend to 11:30 p.m. for $500/hr
- Rental Fee: $5,000
- Included: Variety of tables, black chiavari chairs and parking.
Your Venue: FEC Studios
- Capacity: 60 seated | 90 strolling
- Atmosphere: A modern, flexible event space offering an inviting setting for intimate holiday celebrations, receptions and corporate gatherings.
- Rental Window: 5:30–9 p.m. standard | extend to 11:30 p.m. for $500/hour
- Rental Fee: $1,000
- Included: 3' x 3' tables with matching chairs and parking
- Rental Upgrades: Upgrade your rentals for an additional cost!

Catering and bar services are provided by our on-site partner, The SSA Group. Minimums vary by day and location.
