The Detroit Zoo is Making Dreams Come True

In June, the DZS team — with the help of local partners — made dreams come true for children living with chronic or terminal illnesses and their families. Dream Night, presented by Michigan Educational Credit Union, hosted once a year in June, offers these families a cost-free, stress-free night at the Zoo to make memories that will last — complete with dinner, a silent disco, sign language interpreters and so much more. This year, we saw 969 attendees who had a great time.

Just take it from this attendee: “I can’t wait for the next event. Sometimes caring for a special needs child is costly and tough. Having free events but not lacking in quality is the best feeling you can have. Seeing the smiles of your children is the biggest reward.”
