Meet badge requirements by visiting the Detroit Zoo! Bring your scout group and choose one of our daytime adventures. All programs include a tour of the Zoo and an interactive biofact presentation by one of our knowledgeable volunteer educators.


Meet Me at the Zoo 2017

Saturday, May 20

Join the Girl Scouts of Southeastern Michigan at the Detroit Zoo on May 20! Explore 125 acres of naturalistic habitats and facilities such as the National Amphibian Conservation Center, Arctic Ring of Life and Polk Penguin Conservation Center. Each registered Girl Scout will receive a Girl Scout Day passport and collect six stamps at various habitat, craft and activity stations throughout the Zoo.

Nocturnal Adventures

Spend an evening experiencing a different view of the Detroit Zoo! During this program, participants will visit various locations throughout the Zoo’s 125 acres while learning more about the personal stories of the animals that reside here. Activities will emphasize creativity and storytelling prompts to build reverence and understanding for the animals both at the Zoo and in the wild. This program runs from 6:30 to 10 p.m. and requires a minimum group size of 25.

General Quests

General quests are available for all ages, as well as specific badges for Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts. Cost: $2 per person (does not include admission to the Zoo). Parents and siblings are welcome to attend at the same cost as scouts.

Group minimum is 10, maximum is 40. When purchasing admission to the Zoo, check to see if your group qualifies for a group rate. As with any group visiting the Zoo, you must have at least one adult for every 10 children.
