Archive: Outdoor Yoga Returns to the Detroit Zoo

July 1, 2022

ROYAL OAK, Mich.,

Find your inner peace at the Detroit Zoo this summer.

Yoga at the Zoo is returning to give guests a chance to practice their downward dog and warrior poses with a certified instructor while surrounded by nature and the animals who call the Detroit Zoo home. Taking place on select Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays in July and August, each Yoga at the Zoo session will include a meditative flow appropriate for all skill levels in front of an animal habitat, along with a habitat chat about the featured animal.

Tickets are $25 per session for members and $30 per session for the general public. Each ticket includes Yoga at the Zoo admission, parking and a complimentary admission ticket to the Detroit Zoo to be handed out upon completion of the session.

“Not only is yoga a healthy form of exercise, but Yoga at the Zoo offers a chance for guests to connect with the animals and their stories,” said Randi Hamilton, vice president of guest services, communications and marketing. “As a bonus, your admission directly supports the Detroit Zoo and the animals who live here, along with our mission to advance conservation and sustainability. This is an event that’s good for the mind, the body and the community.”

Yoga at the Zoo is limited to participants 13 years old or older. Due to limited space, advance ticket purchase is required. For complete class details and tickets, visit detroitzoo.org/events.
