Please note: Membership purchases are nonrefundable. Beginning March 1, 2021, the Detroit Zoological Society is excited to introduce digital membership cards as a benefit of your membership. Please read here as we cover some frequently asked questions.

  • Terms

    Memberships ordered online become effective immediately and your email confirmation serves as your temporary card granting you access to all of your member benefits. Please print your confirmation receipt at the end of your transaction and provide a photo ID for entry. On March 1, 2021, the Detroit Zoological Society introduced digital membership cards as a membership benefit. You will no longer receive a physical card. You will be sent your digital card within 24 hours when you renew or buy a new Detroit Zoo membership. Look for an email from the Detroit Zoological Society with instructions. If you already have a physical card, it will remain valid until the expiration date listed on the card. For questions regarding your digital membership card, view our digital membership card FAQ.

    • We want your visit to be pleasant and safe.
    • Members must abide by all current rules and regulations on the Information and Safety page
    • When using your membership card or guest privileges, one of the named adults on the card must be present for admittance.
    • Please be prepared to show photo ID along with your membership card at the admission gates.
    • You will be asked to show your membership card to receive free parking during all daytime visits.
    • All membership descriptions must be followed. Gender and age of all named members and children will be recorded
    • In lieu of presenting identification for children entering, the primary adult member will be asked to identify each child by name at admission entry points.
    • All membership benefits and prices are subject to change at anytime without notice.
    • Detroit Zoological Society memberships cannot be transferred or refunded.
    • Please consult your tax advisor regarding charitable donation rules.

Add-on Options

Nanny or Caregiver $50
Add up to one nanny to accompany the named children in the absence of a primary member
OR a caregiver to accompany a primary member with different abilities

Unnamed Guest $55
Add an additional adult guest who can accompany a primary member on each visit

Add an additional child guest who can accompany a primary member on each visit
